Whenever I am multitasking, opening new apps, inserting my camera it sometimes slows the whole system down. No RAM problems, no extreme CPU usage.

Sometimes when I have closed down Safari or other apps, the Finder becomes extremely irresponsive and swallows all of the CPU ressources, needing a relaunch.

I keep wondering if it has something to do with Logitech Control Center, which I have installed a couple of months ago? Anyone had any experience with this?

Just confirm you have run maintenance scripts and repaired premissions and verifed disk, and software updates?

Kernal panics are rare and typically the result of hardware problem or bad RAM, even a bad USB cable!

Sorry can't be more helpful but if you've done the above it is about backwards elimination until you find the cause.
