I have three two month old 13 Pro Max phones here. Two are on T-Mobile in which one of those is prepaid and one postpaid. Two of these are unlocked bought directly from Apple/

One of these was purchased directly from Verizon that I had unlocked online the second day I bought it to use on T-Mobile. It's worked on T-Mobile great for the most part except for this issue.

All three phones have an intermittent connection issue no matter what sim is in the phone. Basically it's no data connection whatsoever. All three were updated to iOS 16 last week. They also has this connection problem on iOS 15. I had the two Apple store bought iPhones original on T-Mobile prepaid eSims and had the connection problem also. I thought it was an eSim problem so I had them converted to physical sims. Same problem.

Anyone have any ideas on what's going on here? I have full bars on T-Mobile when this happens and it will continue to say 5G UC with no data connection. I have 600-700Mbps when the connection returns. Verizon just plain sucks in my area but that isn't the reason this happens. I've swapped sims between phones with mo luck.

Same issue with my 12 Pro Max and iOS 16.

Anyone know if iOS 16.1 Beta 2 helps this?

I've done a complete reset and starting fresh on one of them and taking it to work with me tonight to test it.

Today, I had all three iPhones data connection not working when I woke up.

I also just had T-Mo move my number back to the physical SIM card yesterday but it’s still an issue today.

I think I fixed it. I complexly erased two of the phones starting with one and then setting it up as a new phone and downloading all the apps that I use the most. I had also set my pictures to sync to iCloud so those came back 100%. I then made a backup and reset the second phone and restored it using the first phones backup. All is well so far after one full day. I'll do the third iPhone later this week.

After having this problem STILL after all these weeks, I have figured out that it is a problem with using T-Mobile sims/eSims in the phone. As soon as put a Verizon sim in, no connection problems at all, verified on all 3 13 pro max phones.

Lucky you. My iphone 13 mini encountered similar issue. In and out cellular services rendered the phone pretty much useless unless connected to wi-fi. The horror story is that in the beginning, apple store could not find out what’s wrong with the phone and told me to do a fresh install of OS, then maybe restore from backup. After fresh ios install, the phone was ok for about an hour, then cellular service went out again, after i got back from apple store. The only difference this time is that it tells me in setting that my phone now has cellular issue and require repair. After took it to authorize repair center, i was told that it needs to be sent back to apple and will take up 14 business days for my phone to be repaired. a week has gone by, no status update whatsoever. This is the most ridiculous service I have ever encountered with apple ever since I started using apple products back in the early 2000s. I tried to ask questions on the forums on apple official site about bad after sales support. One person has responded to my thread, and when I tried to reply, I was told that my session has expired and need to sign in again. I tried numerous times to sign back in to post my reply, but couldn’t get it posted. Has anyone also encountered bad services from apple lately? this is a little absurd…

Well this sucks because Verizon has the worst coverage in my area besides AT&T and it's the most expensive. I would give anything to be able to use T-Mobile on these three new Pro Max phones I have and now one of them has to live in a drawer because I can't use it, I only have two Verizon lines. I have to use may suprefast 600Mbps 5G plus line on an S10+ that is being wasted on LTE with 20-100Mbps speeds.
