Hi there!
I’ve scoured the internet for help on this issue but I haven’t turned up any actual solutions so I thought I’d ask here…
I recently had to change the battery of my 2012 unibody 15” since the original one finally crapped itself, however the CPU is now locked to 1.4 GHz in macOS and 1.2 GHz in Windows. Since just using the old battery wasn’t an option I tried the blogspot post from 2020 about how to disable BD_PROCHOT for running without a battery by deleting the IOPlatformFamily kext and that seemed to push it back to 2.3 GHz but now there’s no turbo boost (It’s stuck at around 2.3 GHz) and bootup takes MUCH longer than it normally did. (I use an SSD) Also no solution worked for the windows side.
On one note however, I haven’t tried CPUTune yet since BD_PROCHOT already seemed to be disabled, and xcode was giving compilation errors.

So what’s left for me to try now? There’s nothing functionally wrong with the battery - it lasts as long as the original (originally) did. I’m using OCLP to run 12.3 on this machine, though I don’t mind downgrading to Catalina to fix this issue.

I’d want to try avoiding yet another battery since so don’t want to spend more money on this 10 year old laptop that should be working fine.
