Thumbnail preview for Studio not visible

Hi all,


My Macbook isn't showing thumbnails for r Studio. It is fine for jpeg, png, pdf etc. The files are stored on one drive but downloaded to my Mac.



I have tried stopping the com.apple.quicklook.Thumbnailsagent but no luck. I would appreciate your advice!

Stupid question, you have RStudio installed on your Mac right?

If you have, the real test is creating an RStudio file and saving it on your desktop. If that then displays the thumbnail icon, it's a One Drive issue.

I just tried that-good idea! But still doesn't display on the desktop, so it is not a One Drive problem

I’m guessing it has before? I’ve never used the app before.

I did see these which sounds similar to your issue, it looks like its a new issue:

Rmd and Qmd file icons replaced with generic plain page icon.

Hi Perhaps since upgrading MacOS 13 to 13.1, using Finder, the file icons that indicate the file type for Rmd are replaced with the generic piece of paper icon. My Qmd files have the generic piece of paper icon. I have asked Apple for help without success. I have installed the latest version...

In macOS my .Rmd files are set to open with RStudio but display the wrong icon

How can I correct my .Rmd file icons? All are assigned Open with: RStudio: (default) but annoyingly they all have a green cylinder database type icon: not the expected purple circle Rmd icon: Get info shows that they are assigned a Kind: R Data File and not the expected Kind: R Markdown...

I'm having the same issue, and it appeared after updating R studio. I haven't upgraded to Ventura yet, still running on Monterey, V12.6.2. Maybe it's an incompatibility issue?
