My MBP's been getting really quite hot (more than usual - in no part due to the exceptionally hot weather over here in the U.K), and I was reading some of the threads about the iCurve and other things to support the machine to give it some space to let the air circulate.

I went out and bought one today, and I have to say the difference is quite phenomenal!

Put it this way, I've been using the machine for going on 4 hours and the thing's luke warm - reminds me of my old iBook (those were the days!).

Really, really recommended purchase folks.

Of course, the only downer was I had to buy a keyboard with it, but a simple wired Apple one was only £25 so it wasn't much really.

Hey! My posture's getting better too!

Anyone worried about the heat, some like this is a must.

Yeah the weather is just out of control the temperature here has been 30-36 all week long :) (Netherlands)
But glad you found the icurve enough for your heat problem, I really need a airco if I have to work on the pc during the day ;)

1.) Can you post pics? I'm thinking about buying one but haven't found many user-submitted pics.

2.) Did you buy it from the Apple store?

I bought an iCurve about 18 months ago, after my PowerBook had a close encounter with a glass of water, and I've been quite happy with it.

The price was a bit steep, but it's served well and taken quite a beating in that time.

I have a fan going behind the iCurve, with an external hard disk under the Mac. The fan cools both. Mind you these last few days all the fan's been doing is stirring hot air around. Even then the Mac is still in the 40's (C) so the iCurve/fan combo's definitely working.
