I am trying to export ALL of my Thunderbird email (nearly 5 GB of it) to MBOX format. The ImportExportNG add-on does this, and cranks the CPU hard for a long time doing it. When it is done... I can't find the results! Does anyone know where ImportExportNG places its output? It is not of much use if you cannot find it!

I have searched all the "usual" places (Documents, Downloads, my Thunderbird mail folders, etc.) and cannot locate the results of the export.

I have even searched my HDD using a filter of "created today" and "size > 1 GB", but neither of these has turned up anything either.

Any and all pointers MUCH appreciated!

Just to close this thread, for anyone who may be interested the answer to my question is "anywhere you want it to"!

Once ImportExportNG is installed, go to Thunderbird's Add-Ons menu and you will see ImportExportNG, with two settings icons to the far right of its name. Using the first of these (looks like a wrench on my system), you can set the "export to" folder.

Live and learn!
