I used Thunderbird Mail program and a bunch of detected trojans were found, all of which are inside my Thunderbird mail at:

Library/Thunderbird/Profiles

Thing is, Thunderbird doesn't allow Profile Files to be deleted, at least not in the normal and obvious way.

Please let me know how to do this. The files are taking up space, I use Mail now, the files are full of trojans and malicious viruses and I will pop the cork on a bottle of wine in your honor if you can walk me through this.

Thank you in advance!

I think you might be looking in the wrong folder. Quit TB then go to this folder and you should see your profile there where you can delete it. Note that ~ is your users folder. To get there easily you can select the line below with your mouse, then right click, then select Services, then Reveal in Finder.

Code:
~/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles/
