Hi, I want to connect my external hard drive with thunderbolt 2 ports to my new MacBook Pro with USB C ports. Is there a single cable solution which can do this, I don't want another adapter or dongle... please let me know, thanks!

To clarify, you are looking for a way to go from Thunderbolt 2 ports to a Thunderbolt 3 port, not Thunderbolt 2 to USB-C. You can't do this with just a cable; you need the Thunderbolt 2 to 3 adapter:
