I've been looking around for a suitable dock for my macbook pro.

I've recently purchased the Satechi adapter but the issues are: 4k HDMI display only at 30hz and it gets hot.

Looked around for Thunderbolt 3 docks but why so expensive!?

Any solutions you have found?

TB dongles are expensive because they can support 4k@60 and up to 5k due to the higher bandwidth whilst running USB 3.1 at full speed instead of dropping to USB 2.0.

I'm currently using the Hyperdrive right now and couldn't be happier with it.

Agreed. Hyperdrive is the perfect TB adapter. All the ports I need, and in a slim factor!
