Thunderbolt card who would buy?

If someone like Sonnet Technologies built a thunderbolt card for current Mac Pro would you buy one?
I had a 1,1 version MacPro and sold it last fall thinking a new Mac Pro would ship soon. I do high end video editing so I created a SSD based MacBook Pro with thunderbolt display, Two Pegasus raid controllers and firewire 800 (which is only for backup as it is to slow for editing) Drobo, two Mercury elite 4tb drives. It is the closest thing I could get to a Mac Pro but is far from reliable. %50 of the time I boot I have to disconnect the thunderbolt cable, the system reboots every week or so.

If someone built a thunderbolt card for a Mac Pro just for compatibility I would concider buying a speed bumped Mac Pro just to keep me going.

Would you buy a thunderbolt card for your Mac Pro? Maybe a vendor like Sonnet Technologies would build one if enough folks asked them.

After waiting and waiting (and waiting) for new Mac Pros, then being buoyed by the leaked specs of two new Sandy Bridge Pros and a SB Pro Server, then being disappointed they weren't announced Monday, I was then overjoyed to see three new Mac Pros in the Apple Store -- two new Pros and a server as predicted! So I bought the cheap one and a Thunderbolt RAID for good measure. Without CHECKING ITS SPECS. Because what else could it be but a Thunderbolted SB Pro? What else would even make sense to bother releasing?

It came today. You know the rest. So yes, I would buy a Thunderbolt adapter. But then, I'm a moron.

They'd have to somehow jury-rig a pass-through for video. PCIe Video cards don't route back video through the PCIe bus.

thanks for the info. I was thinking data only, but If I can't connect my thunderbolt display it is pretty useless.
I bought the whole thunderbolt line, hook line and sinker. Shame on me to trust Apple. Now i am really jammed in a corner. Think they are going to give any guidence to help us produce high end video? zip.
if the Apple execs are giving dates like late 2013, they had no plan to build a new Mac Pro. They are starting from scratch.
 
I want a Thunderbolt card so bad, for one reason only. An eGPU enclosure like what MSI is making, for gaming in Windows. I could get rid of the whole separate PC I keep, basically just for the graphics card.

If a solution doesn't come around soon, I just might ditch the Mac Pro, in favor of a TB-equipped Mac? Dunno. It doesn't seem like anyone plans to make one, or is it even possible? Seems like lots of people are ditching the Mac Pro these days anyway, for one reason or another. It gets no love from Apple anymore. :(

Haha, oh wow...that's terrible. I see they've now removed the "NEW" tag, I think someone at the online store took a hint.

Fortunately The Nerds (via Amazon) were great about taking back the RAID in a way that cost me nothing. I'm keeping the Pro because it IS faster than my 07 MP and I'm in the middle of a project, which is not the time to be switching to an HP or fiddling with a Hackintosh. They say you should buy a new machine when you need a new machine, and that's true as far as it goes. But it doesn't change the annoying fact that these days Apple is about as "pro" as Nintendo.
