Hi All, creating this post, since I am not sure where else I can get a clear answer.
3 months of internet (4 hours a day) and going through 18 pages of google searches every time, is not yielding any results. just ranting my frustration, but the query is as follows:
I have a Apple Thunderbolt Display. It works really well with MacBook Pro 2012. It also works well with my Lenovo T470 laptop using the Apple TB3 to TB2 adapter. But when connected to Lenovo T490 laptop, the laptop does not recognise and throws an error.
I have 3 questions:

  1. Why does it work with T470 but not T490? is it the drivers
  2. What devices (non- apple) is compatible with the Thunderbolt Display?
  3. Does anyone think M1 iPad Pro will be compatible with the Thunderbolt Display?

Looking for the answer to this with the M1 iPad Pros
That's an iPad question. This thread is in the MacOS section. The iPad forum may have an answer.

For example:

I found that thread by searching the iPad forum for keywords thunderbolt display.
