People on here mention that you can't run 2 minidisplayport monitors through thunderbolt because it is DP 1.0 instead of 1.2 (I think I'm remembering the numbers correctly). Is there any hope that Thunderbolt will be updated to the new standard in the next rev of macs coming this year? I do not believe I have seen anyone reference a potential update. It's always, "can't' do that, only DP 1.0" without any future look.

Sorry if the mini board is not the correct place for this.

It's 1.1. Here's some info:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thunderbolt_(interface)

Looks like Redwood Ridge will support 1.2, so if Apple uses the Redwood Ridge controller then we might get the ability to daisy chain regularly DP monitors.

Thanks for the reply. Would that also allow for daisychain-ing of a mini-displayport off of a TBD (assuming TBD gets updated too)?

It should.... DP 1.2 supports Multi-Stream Transport, so that should mean if it is fully implemented we SHOULD be able to do daisy chaining. However, until Apple adds it and we get to try it, it is impossible to know.
