how can i make it work if i just have a mini display port? or i just waist my money
thank you

Return it. Will not work with MacPro 5,1 or older.
Yes. Don't expect something that you bought today to work with the Apple computer that you bought yesterday.

And don't expect that something that you bought yesterday will work with the Apple computer that you bought today.

Constant research and diligence is needed to avoid being caught by Apple's phenomenal skills at planned obsolescence.

Or at least be aware that you may need to buy hundreds of dollars of dongles to use them together.

Sorry romo, you didn’t buy a monitor compatible with your system. Thunderbolt ports weren’t available on the cMP. You need to return the display and get one that’s compatible with your video card (i.e. HDMI or mDP).
