A while back I posted a thread about a dead keyboard on a mid-2014 MBP. For now we have not decided to replace it as it is pretty expensive for an old Mac, that otherwise is running well considering it's age. I have gone through a few external keyboards but decided to keep the Logitech K380 which is very good.
Since we started having troubles with key repeats (rrrrr, gggg, etc) an annoying small ticking noise has been intermittent and haven't been able to figure out what it is. Pretty sure it's not hard drive related, and I now think it could be the keyboard issues casuing repeat key noises (hard to explain the noise...). Question is if there is a way to totally disable the internal keyboard as it's useless at this point, and I do think the external is causing this glitch at times. I have read there is a "terminal" command that may disable the keyboard but it's not a simple fix, and last night installed Karabiner-Elements and things seem much better, but not perfect.
Anybody know of an easy way to simply disable the internal keyboard? I don't think there is a simply way but worth a shot
