Hi guys,

I have a series of 9 tif files and I'd like to make them into one PDF file and was wondering what the best way I can do this is?

Thanks!

Open the first TIFF using Preview. Open the Sidebar drawer. Drag and drop the rest of the TIFFs from the Finder into the drawer. Make sure they're in the right order. Save As -> PDF.

Done!

Cheers

Hi Jim,

I tried that and it only gives me whatever page I'm on as a PDF when I do that....

Adobe Acrobat Pro - File/Combine/Merge Files into a single PDF

Drag and drop your files into the application window, select an order and save.

You can do this job with help of a software "UNIVERSAL DOCUMENT CONVERTER". You can download it by just clicking here. This is the trial version but you can do your job before the end of its trial period.

I may be forgetting. But if you just open in preview, save as PDF- done.

Just did that yesterday on a 88 page tiff.

Well, that's what I suggested first, but the OP said that wasn't working for him, which is why I suggested the alternative.

I'll confess to being unsure why other posters are suggesting paid-for software or installing trial versions when Preview ships free with every Mac!

Cheers!

Because this is the design and graphics forum and learning to use the right tool for the job is a good thing. Using the native program for a creating PDF files is always preferable because it is can be configured for any media format or file size limitation.

+1

I avoid PDF pro on my Mac every chance I get. I use preview most of the time. Another thing preview does better on a large PDF is sends it to my HP 8mp 100x's faster than adobe. Adobe wants to spool for 20 min.

Preview FTW. In fact I would like to see :apple:Open up more options on that now they are slapping adobe around. :D

Thanks for the thread-- it helped me out today. I also found the additional files must be dropped ONTO the first one in the drawer, not below it, for the Save As method to work instead of having to print to PDF.

Thought I'd share in appreciation,

Gabe
