I've just installed Tiger - and my email is gone!
When I started Mail 2 is shows all my boxes - but they're all empty.
It briefly showed numbers of messages in the boxes but when clicked these went blank.

All mailboxes we left in default locations

Any ideas?

Here's what I'd do... please step in if I'm wrong.

If you did an upgrade and install with Tiger, your old pre-Tiger mailboxes are still on your hard disc somewhere. Try using Spotlight to find them. If you gave one of them a unique name try that. You should then find where they are located.

Once you've tracked them down, try doing a manual import into Mail 2.

Sorry I can't be more detailed but I'm using a PB with Panther on it at the moment.

Hope that helps.

See this thread. Most likely, it's an incompatibility with a plug-in you used in an older version of Mail. Delete everything in ~/Library/Mail/Bundles/ and it should work, although you may need to get new, Tiger-compatible versions of any plug-ins you relied on.

Thanks Scott,

Just tried to restart and mail wouldn't quit and timed out the restart
I force-quit and then relaunched
I then got a welcome to mail 2 screen and it then imported all my emails
- how strange is that???? new install and everything.

Wonder if anyone else has had that?
Thanks for your help though.
