Why does it seem interesting? It seems like a pain in the arse for little gain.

Are there even any Macs which shipped with Tiger that support ML?

Little gain? It has the beauty of the Ui that Leopard and Lion had, the speed that Snow Leopard had and the new features that Mountain Lion will have. It's a huge upgrade.

And I'm sure there are 64 bit macs that can run tiger and mountain lion.

To my knowledge, no Mac that was sold during the time of Tiger would support Mountain Lion. They might, and probably will, with some hacks, i.e. adding in necessary kexts, but a standard install won't work.

Heck, very few Macs that were sold during the time of Leopard even support Mountain Lion.

When I said little gain I meant not in comparison to Tiger, but with the latest version Macs from that era support - Either SL or Lion.

Which do? The only ones which might support it are some Mac Pros.

EDIT: I'm running on the presumption that you're talking about Macs which came with Tiger, not a later Mac some person downgraded to tiger for some inexplicable reason and then never updated.

Is your question just hypothetical or are you looking to do this? I think the number of people with Intel Macs still running Tiger would be absolutely minuscule.

There is no Mac that was released with Tiger that will support Mountain Lion. The OP didn't do his homework prior to posting.

Actually my iMac mid 2007 came with tiger and is upgradable to Mountain Lion...

My 2007 MacBook Pro came with Tiger installed… it supports Mountain Lion.

Do your research…

Wrong.

I remember reading that you have to upgrade to Snow Leopard first. Didn't Apple give SL copies away for a small amount recently to make the upgrade to ML possible?

Bingo! I knew it! So, anyone tried it?

Who would have skipped 3 Upgrades?

Exactly! That's what made it so interesting! :D

And maybe if 10.9 came out, I'll be asking how to skip 4 version! 2 times the fun!

It's hypothetical. I'd love to hear stories about such huge achievement of skipping 3 major OSes. It's like time traveling.

Wrong.

As listed on Wikipedia, and Apple's site on a page I couldn't find faster than I found Wikipedia, the only 2007 Macs to support Mountain Lion are the MacBook Pro and iMac. Depending on when you purchased these, there was a period that you could've actually gotten one with Tiger preinstalled, but as I remember Apple would provide a free Leopard DVD if Leopard did not come installed by default.

So this is possible if you bought one of the 2007 MacBook Pro or iMac models very close to the time they came out.

I know the MacBook line though, there is no MacBook that had Tiger preinstalled that can also run Mountain Lion. The 2007 models had either a Intel GMA 950 or GMA X3100 IGP. I distinguish them by their GPU since I find it easiest.

If you bring kexts over from Lion, you can make the GMA 950 and newer MacBook models run Mountain Lion, but since that's not a vanilla Apple install I don't think you were considering that.
