Does this game play on the Macbook 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor? What sports games would run on this Macbook?

Thanks for your input.

Eyedoc: what video does your Macbook have in it? TW2008 will not run on the integrated video, but I'm fairly certain it will run on any other video stand-alone card. It will not run on the Intel GMA graphics (built-in) for sure.
A word of caution though. I have a 24" aluminum iMac with 4 G of ram and an HD2600 pro video card. TW2008 runs OK, but infuriatingly (did I invent that word?) s l o w. . . . From one scene to another is not bad (on a particular hole for instance), but changing from play to Gameface, to game mode is painfully sloooow... It also has graphic anomolies such as red or blue shadows of the ball instead of grey, and triangles of terrain that flash and change their texture as you approach. Really annoying.
I also have a 750 GB hard drive which I have partitioned with 250 GB for Bootcamp with XP Home installed. I got the exact same game for Windows and installed it. It looks and plays awesome under Windows:rolleyes: - on the very same hardware.
So, bottom line is that it is a really poor port of a very good Windows game.

Does that help?

Rich,

Thank you. It is a brand new macbook with the GMA X3100. It is the integrated graphics card. I just was not sure if this would work because on the tiger woods site it says it won't work with the GMA 950. It does not say anything about the GMA X3100.
Do you know of any games that will work with this macbook? Preferably sports games.

Gary

Eyedoc,

Do you seek Mac native sport games or do you run Bootcamp?

The native Mac version needs:

Mac OS X v10.4.9 or later
1.83GHz or faster Intel Core Duo processor
1GB RAM
6GB free hard-disk space
Video card: ATI X1600 series or later; NVIDIA GeForce 7300 or later
(the GMA x3100 should be fine)
DVD-ROM drive

If you do run Bootcamp, what Windows version do you use? Xp or Vista?

Regards,
Fatum

I just bought a MacBook with the GMA x3100 2.2GHz. I also bought 4 GB of Ram from OWC. Just looking for something to keep me busy between patients. NO bootcamp at this time. So I am looking for mac native games.

Thanks

I don't have a Macbook, but I know that the integrated graphics card has its limitations. I doubt that Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 will work on your system, but I can't really say it will or won't, as the system requirements were made public prior to the Macbook getting the improved integrated graphics card.

Anyway, here's a thread discussing/listing games on the Macbook in particular (both native Mac games, and games for those who fancy to show off Windows on their Mac...). Maybe you can find something of interest:

Thank you. I will check it out when I have time.

I have a late (December) 2007 Mac Pro (3GHz, 8-core) with an ATI 1900 video card & 4GB RAM , & the game won't even try to launch. Sez my card won't handle the game. WHAT!?! !st time my Mac's been refused for anything. Adios, Tiger Woods 2008. What a load of c**p.

It probably requires SM3.0, the 1900 is only SM2.0 compliant. The 1900 is 2 generations old. A lot are starting to support DirectX 10 now.

Here are the stated requirements for Tiger woods 2008:

REQUIREMENTS:1.83GHz Intel Core Duo processor or faster, Mac OS 10.4.9 or later, 1GB RAM, ATI X1600 or nVidia GeForce 7300 or later graphics card

My card is an ATI 1900, which is more capable than the 1600 (as well as more expensive), so why doesn't it work?
