For all you owners of Timbuk2 Messenger Bags and MBPs, did you buy the Classic Messenger Bag or their Laptop Messenger Bag. I think the classic would be fine but is there THAT much of a difference that I would be willing to pay $25+ more to get the laptop one?

Also, would you recommend customizing it? I think it would be a nice personal touch, but it costs more :(

I customized the laptop one, and I loved it!

The only thing about Timbuk2 is that, I was a bit disappointed in the material they used. Other than that I think it's a good bag and will last long time. However because I customized one, I cannot return it.

Also keep in mind that if you get classic messenger, you have to buy the laptop sleeve, which is gonna make it about the same.

I had the laptop one, and it was fantastic for my Powerbook back in the day. Really great bag, highly recommended.

And I'm selling it in the Marketplace right now, if you don't mind a used bag. :D

oh hey, and both of ya are from chicago ;)

sorry, i felt the urge to point that out.

Classic + InCase sleeve for me. I don't see why you'd want to be limited to a bag that has the sleeve built in. I carry my timbuk all the time without my computer in it; the sleeve would just take up extra space and add weight on those trips.

Classic w/ a Sumo case.
I have a medium, which is the perfect size- I can fit all the textbooks I'd ever need (Orgo book, lab manual, Molec. Bio book, several binders) and also find space for the laptop in the case.
As munckee said, there are times when I don't want my laptop with me.
I was going to customize but randomly found my bag in an LL Bean outlet in the colors/size I was going to customize it to. I highly reccommend going to a bike shop or somewhere where they sell the bags and trying some on for size, space, etc though- I was going to get a large until I saw how big the medium was.
