I am interested in using the Time Capsule as a NAS device for my Apple TV as well as my Sonos music. I would also like it to store all other files that would be used by a PC and an IMac. Please describe how you anticipate the hookups to work. I now have a firewire external drive connected to my PC for streaming of media. Will I simply hook the Time Capsule up to my 1 Gig router/switch? Will this make the streaming to my Apple TV faster or slower? I am new to the whole NAS device thing so sorry if this is a basic question. Thanks.

I wouldn't have thought you'd need to partition it - both Time Machine and you (through the Finder) and use the same partition.
I'm curious too how it might work as home media server. 1Gb Ethernet should be considerably faster than even 802.11n wireless. I don't know how well HD movie streaming would work over 802.11n, has anyone tried it?
There's a lot of conflicting info about the TC, so I think it might be worth waiting until its released. In the last couple of days people have been told by Apple that you won't be able to partition it and if you use it for Time Machine, you won't be able to use it as a NAS.

I haven't tried streaming an HD movie yet. iTunes only lets you rent the HD ones, and (if I'm not mistaken) only from an
TV....you can't rent HD from your computer.Having said that, I WILL say that my DL is very slow. I'm upgrading to a much faster cable modem this afternoon. My DSL is so slow that if one person is surfing the net, the other person REALLY sees the degradation in speed. I'm 99% sure this isn't the wireless....it's the DSL line. After today, I'll be able to test a fast connection, streaming a SD movie from my iMac to my
TV AND try surfing from my laptop to see how everything goes.I'm guessing HD content will use a lot of bandwidth for the wireless.....but I'd rather take a hit on performance and have everything wireless than have cables all over the place.
