This is unusual.

Time Machine is reporting all files as "Date Added" - 17 August 1970. And when I restore or transfer the data to a new system. The date migrates with the files...

Any suggestions on this would be really appreciated. And yes, I'm fully up to date Sequoia 15.2 And this is a fresh TM copy...

I noticed this same thing when I restored Time Machine to a new Mac, but when I do the "Get Info" on a file, it shows the Created and Modified dates correctly. Only that column in Finder is showing it wrong.

So it's not just me... I checked on my partner's TM and MBP and there were a few files in there with the date too? WT* is happening... so odd?!

I'm in the same situation- I got a new Mac and restored Time Machine. Everything about the restoration is perfect, apart from the date added. I found if I remove a file or folder from its location and put it back, then it will show the correct date added date.

As I said, restoring the Time Machine was flawless and I had zero problems, so I'm guessing this is some kind of a placeholder date added to files and folders?

BTW - my dates and times are exactly the same as yours!!

Yeah, I have basically manually moved everything affected onto an external and will then put it all back over itself... hoping that this will remove the arbitrary date... and I'll try again...
