I use iCloud to synce my Reminders. Does Time Machine back up an actual copy of the Reminders or just a file that controls the sync with iCloud? I deleted a Reminder list by mistake and tried to restore from an earlier Time Machine backup, but when I did that I still wound up with the current lsit.

Time Machine backs up absolutely everything on your computer.
As far as I know, the Reminders lists are located in ~/Library/Calendars.

The reason you probably ended up with the newest lists is that iCloud started syncing, thus deleting your restored list again.

If you already know how to restore the Reminders list, try disabling Reminders syncing in your iCloud preferences beforehand, so it won't delete it again.

Thanks. I turned off iCloud syncing and restored an earlier version of all the files in the Calendar folder - but that didn't restore any reminders lists. As soon as I turned iCloud syncing back on, the reminder lists came back - but not the earlier version.
