I have set my seagate to be used through time machine and I am having the hardest time finding things.

After reading a thread I found out how to view my backed up photos in iphoto through time machine.

The problem is. We reformatted our Imac, and although I can find the other photos that were saved on there. I cannot find any of the photos that were once in Iphoto, as iphoto is now empty.

Do you know where those photos may be or have I lost them all?

Did you not want to restore your machine from Time Machine or something?

You should click on the Time Machine button in the menubar and click Browse Other Time Machine Disks, browse the attached drive and go to Users/User that you uses/Pictures/

In there is the iPhoto library.

check that. I was digging through my time machine back ups and found the file and finder says it's 4.23 gb. I can't figure out how to view what is past it though.

Some background info: I have an iphoto library on my current computer, I had one on my old computer. The only thing i have left from my old computer are the backup files from Time Machine. I don't want to add any of the pictures from my old computer to my new one, there is not enough space, but I want to pull the files out, even if they are just in folders.

It is all in the iPhoto Library file, right click and select show package content to view your files!

Mine is like 46GB for example so you need to find the Library file on your time machine, if you cant you have lost it! :(
