Nope, I used TM on a 1TB Samsung 860 Pro for awhile via external enclosure. I wasn’t terribly happy with the speed increase so I went back to a spinner (my own experience). I use the SSD for my Parallel Windows 10 instance now.

Just make sure to format Mac OS Journaled as the new AFPS won‘t work for Time Machine.

So a SuperDuper backup And a Time machine backup can coexist on the same T5 ext disk??
And I can restore from that disk w/o probs??

I’ve done it with CCC and while I own SuperDuper - I believe it can too.
