On Yosemite, the time machine animation in the bar is missing. I have to click it to see it. Is the old feature still there and if so how do i turn it on?

Time Machine animation

Well I didn't care for Mavericks so stayed with Mountain Lion and miss the spinning clock. Any ideas if it can be put back? I wonder sometimes why they remove good features?

The animation is gone and I am not aware of a way to get it back, but if you watch closely in the menu item when TM is doing a backup a second little arrow will appear there connecting with the existing arrow on the left side of the circle.

Not as obvious as the old animation, but it does the same thing.
