Time Machine Auto Backups, Even While Turned Off!

So, more Time Machine Issues... go figure. I have time machine turned off and manually backup when i make big changes or like 2-3 times a week. Connected to a 6TB G-drive via Firewire 800. I am dealing with Huge backups, which is being discussed in another thread. But my problem is that I have Time Machine turned off! I still have not timed it yet to know exactly how often it happens or even know if its happening in set increments, but i am gonna say every 8 to 12 hours or so I notice that Time Machine is auto backing up... Why is it doing this! I checked the code in the time machine file and its still set to 3600 (1 hours in seconds), so its still set as the default settings. But its set to off and keeps backing up by itself. any suggestions?

Do we think that there is a code issue somewhere on my machine? should i completely wipe the backup folder on my External and start from scratch and see if its still doing it?

no nothing like that is installed. I may have had it in the past a while back. maybe it left a file somewhere?

THere seems to be zero help for this issue on google and as well on here. very weird problem thats annoying.

Have you checked "/LaunchDaemons" for a file called "com.timesoftware.timemachineeditor.backup-auto.plist"?

hey man, i looked in /system/library/launchdaemons and its not there

Check also /Library/LaunchDaemons and /Users/<you>/Library/LaunchAgents.

@jbarley and @BrianBaughn please see the above post, i found the file you guys mentioned and also its helper... When i open the main file (see the pic below) i found the #21,600 in the code. the normal time in the OS is 3,600 so it looks like the .plist file was set at 6 hours. I think this is exactly about the time it auto backs up. I will delete them and report back tomorrow to let you know if we have success. thanks again guys!

Yes. Then see what happens after a restart.

Yup deleted the files and have not had an issue yet. If it has not don't it by tomorrow it's correct, but so far so good!

Sounds like at some point you had TimeMachineEditor installed and running, then deleted the application without first disabling it.

I just wanted to thank you guys, its been about 1.5 days and not a single backup that i did not do manually!! I seem to be good to go. THis is a great thread for anyone who may ever have their mac backup when time machine is off. see post 7 for the 2 tiles.
