Hey guys, I was looking at my SSD storage via about this mac-> more info-> storage and I see a purple bar indicating Time machine backups that is 1.88gb in size.

I havent plugged in my time machine HD drive were I have my backup so I dont know what this 1.88gb of space is on my SSD, all I know is that it wasnt there before.

Is this the snapshoti thing? Can I remove it and stop it from taking up space on my ssd?

Ignore it. It is stored time machine data and will be transferred to your time machine drive when connected. If the space on the ssd is needed it will delete the restored data automatically so no need to manage it manually.

Τhank you very much for this! Love the ssd thing, but having only 256gb of space makes you kind of worried about unecessary data taking space! ;)
