Dear all,

I currently backup my iMac with an external USB drive using Time Machine. I also have a firewire hdd attached to my iMac where I store my documents and photos.
How do I know if the external firewire hdd is backup in the usb drive?
Thank you for your support,
dk

With your Firewire drive plugged in open up Time Machines preferences (in System Preferences), click on the Options button and make sure that your firewire drive is not on the Exclude list.

I guess a way of being sure you be to browse the Time Machine backup hard drive through Finder.

It should have a folder structure like:-
[Backup Hard Drive Name] > Backups.backupd > [Computer Name] > Latest

Where inside Latest folder both your drives you are backing up should have folders.

A betetr way to check the backups is to "Enter Time Machine" and browse the backup there.
