Thanks Weaselboy. I Suppose I think similarly. I'll keep my eyes on the sales.At this point, I think the major brand drives are all about the same, and I usually just decide what size I need then buy what I can find on sale.

OWC lowered their prices lately and is designed for MacBooks and Macs.
some Members and I had problem with Seagate and their software downloading just to read and write.
and what im doing now is using one enclosure and 4 ssd drives for 4 macs
that frees uo space and is more cost effective in the long run.

I like this idea and I think I'm going to do both. Two backups never hurt anyone.I say get your own bare external like OWC Mercury Elite external and add your own drive! This way you can swap ut drives when the original fails!
