After going ML, I decided to clean up my old TM and start a new one.
Formatted the drive, all clean and new. 70GB to backup - 24 hours
estimated time!!! Are you kidding me? It's extremely slow...
Anyone else with that problem?

yeah, it seems slow TM backups, especially the first one are taking forever.

Hoping it's some kind of bug and an update will fix it.

They have to fix it, the original backup is a complete disaster,
but the incremental ones are also very slow.

First backup after ML update took about 40 minutes; approx 10gb. Incremental since is normal to my TC. The only issue is the previous Lion backups cannot been seen in TM. The sparse bundle is about 66gb so I know there are there.

a temporary solution

My Macbook Pro 3,1 with ML has experienced the same issue with TM too. After two days of forever backups and a couple of sudden restart of my Macbook, I figured I should simply plug in ethernet cable to connect my Macbook and TM. And it worked smoothly! Before plugging in cable, only less than 2 Gb of data was backed up in 24 hours. But after plugging in cable, 20 Gb of data was backed up within an hour.

Maybe ML has bug in the wireless connection for the older machine.
