Been having issues after the upgrade where Time Machine starts backing up but then at some point throughout the backup backupd basically stops doing anything. The backup is flying along then just suddenly comes to a halt. This happens on a local firewire drive as well as a network attached drive. The backupd process has 0 CPU utilization when this happen compared to the high amount during a backup.

I looked at the .BackupXXXXXXX.log file that is in the .progress directory and it is the normal stuff. Nothing about it crashing or anything.

...
Copying items from "macOS" (device: /dev/disk0s2 mount: '/' fsUUID: 5B46DEBA-7D6C-3BEC-84A9-B49CB8FB0C9F eventDBUUID: 7704EF8C-F29F-4B57-AA87-46C8A99FE209)

I tried the usual erase the disk and try again. Restart in safemode. Remove the device and re-add it. etc

Any ideas/help would be appreciated.

UPDATE: After running "sudo fs_usage backupd" a couple of time it seemed to hang at files like
.ubiquitous_E8B3DC6E-3DFC-4713-AF5B-C59C21DB550E.mailsignature.icloud
I then unchecked "Mail" from the iCloud settings along with the Mail.app from the iCloud drive configs and now it seems to be working fine.

Does anyone know WHY that would "fix" the issue ?
