Time Machine problem

My time machine appears to be stuck, its its first back up, and its been on for 24 hours pretty much now, its stuck half way, and doesn't seem to be moving.
It said about 24 hours when it saturated, that was a day ago, and now says still 19 hours to go.

If I stop this backup, will it have to start from scratch again?
