Time stuck on 9:42am, but cannot fix!

I've got my time stuck on 9:42am, which apparently is from Extended Preferences' "Fake Time." Unfortunately, I've done a restore and installed 1.1.3 - it's still there! I was under the impression a restore actually erased everything and started from scratch.

Is there a way I can do a "hard restore" to really wipe everything clean? Otherwise, I'm assuming the only way to fix this is to downgrade to 1.1.1, jailbreak, and then installed Extended Preferences and remove the fake time. Seems silly that a restore didn't fix this, seeing as I'm supposedly on a "fresh" 1.1.3 firmware!

From what I have read previously... A restore/upgrade to new firmware will not change anything changed on your menubar on top. This happened when Nate Tru showed the leaked version of 1.1.3 with "Nate" still showing instead of AT&T (And it hadn't been jailbroken yet). Before ever restoring make sure to change anything in the menubar back to normal. As of right now, unless you jailbreak 1.1.3 you may have to downgrade and do as you said...

But the only way to jailbreak 1.1.3 is to downgrade, correct? So either way, I'm stuck downgrading. I'm running a legit AT&T contract, but I'm unsure how to determine my BootLoader version... I've read if I have 4.6 I will lose phone functionality upon downgrading.

do u restore your information from itunes from a previous one? thats why

I did indeed do that. So if I restore and chose not to restore the backup (in which case I would lose all my #s and texts), it will fix it?

If that's true, could I do it that way and then just sync my contacts from Address Book to get my contacts back?

Well, if you wouldn't have upgraded, there's an easy fix (or if you downgrade it, it might work too). Go into your iPhone's directory via SSH, navigate to /private/var/root/Library/Preferences and delete the file com.apple.springboard.plist. I read about it from another forum, and it worked like a charm. I did have to go back and redo my alarms though.

yea just restore by saying start new or something not restore from back up

I had the 9:42 problem and I upgraded to 1.1.3 Anyhow, to fix it now, you just do a restore, and chose to set up a new iphone. This will erase all contacts, and email settings. It fixed the 9:42 problem.
