Time to buy a desktop mac. please help me decide

i have a SR MBP i have been using as my laptop and desktop (with no external monitor, just a keyboard and mouse)

well i now want to buy a desktop so i can have a bigger screen wihtout having to plug in the MBP all the time ..

i want to put bootcamp and winxp so i can run HL2, cs, and tf2

these games all run fine on my MBP with the 8600 GT

.. so i was wondering can the 24" imac handle those games (im not really familiar with ATI cards)

... if it wont handle it im thinking about a default configed Mac Pro with a 30" Apple Cinnama Display

In reality the iMacs are basically the same architecture as the laptops.

The only question is will the laptop/mobile 2600 handle the games you want, and there are PC sites that answer that.

NICE! those results are awesome since i like having vsync on to avoid tearing, so 60+ on all the games is perfect... i guess a 24" imac is the way to go for me

..... being a computer tech by trade... coming home to use a mac after working on bleeping PC's all day saves me from going insane
