Good Morning Folks, hope everyone is having a great day!

I'll try to keep this one as brief as possible....

I've used Android phones only since the T Mobile G1 back in 2008, i have never in my entire life owned an Iphone, I have however had Ipads so i know generally how iOS goes. Decided to finally make the jump, ditched the android and picked up an Iphone 12 Pro (I wanted some pro-ness but the max was just too big for me, i wear tighter jeans and don't carry a purse LOL)

Few random questions please:

1. The Magsafe Charger requires a 20w power brick to charge at the rated 15w. I currently own a USB-C 45 watt Non-Apple power brick that I use for my laptop, can this be used with magsafe to get the full 15w, or do i need to get an apple-specific wall plug as well?

Side Note: Without Magsafe i will just receive standard 7.5w wireless charging via basically any QI pad at that point, correct?

2. I currently have Verizon Post-Paid, but its an older grandfathered Non-5G plan, i get a 10 gig bucket that is split between 4 users, can i still call Verizon and get an eSIM for my new Iphone? Or are they requiring you upgrade your plan to be eSIM compatible?

3. Just from trolling this forum ive seen a lot of display-related issues such as yellow screens, the screen not being true AMOLED Black, and also nausea / headaches from PWN, but dont know if thats a widespread issue or not as my Android phones have all had OLED for at least the last 5 years and ive never experienced any negative effects from them.

4. Anything in general i should know, honestly?

Thank you!

There’s YouTube video showing really the magsafe tapers after like 50% so you will not hit full 15w throughout the range of the charge. The difference between 18w charger and 20w charger is literally in minutes.
My use case the 12 mini hits a 12w max charge unlike the larger 12 models. I MagSafe charge on an eBay charger MagSafe while using a 16 inch MacBook Pro ac charger and I hit 11.55w. It tapers to 7.5. So again it’s such a small difference. there’s was this other video online comparing magsafe vs 5w charger. And MagSafe charge curve is high when the iPhone batter is low (it charges rapidly when the battery is low, similar to how my Tesla rapid charges when I’m at low state of charge under 20%). However it tapers to protect the battery similar to my car as the batter gets full. Magsafe and 5w charger, charging to 100% state of charge is nearly the same time. If you want fast charging wires lightning to usb-c is the way.

For regular qi charger, the max is 7.5 but you have to have a higher than 5w charger on the qi charger.

The OLED screens are pure black not sure what the issue is here. Some people are experiencing yellowing but I don’t think that’s wide spread. Some people have pwm issues but again it’s some people. These issues exist with android but android is so fractured with thousanxs of models and tons of different manufacturers either no one cares to make it an issue or it doesn’t rise to the level of Apple fans who are very pationate about our iDevices.

As far as number 4 expect at least 5 years or more of software updates haha. your device will feel like new if you change the battery and update the software. It’s cool to have a phone and the UI changes in the same generation. I remember when the 5 updated the software and got rid of the skewmorphic design elements to the flattened UI. That was neat. Heck my moms se first gen has the latest software which is great.

Try not to let your battery drain down past 20% when possible. Don't expose the phone to extreme temperatures. Using Dark Mode display can make for easier reading and less drain on the battery.

Do not lose your proof of purchase. If you ever get locked out of your phone, you will need that receipt so Apple can help you get back into the phone.
