OWC no longer offers $1000 shipping boxes for the 5,1. Could you please provide some guidance on how to pack a 5,1? I am unfamiliar with its weight. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I have an abundance of boxes and bubble wrap available. Custom foam is not required, and I only have a quarter of a noodle.

Personally purchased 5-6 chesegrader computers.

Those that did not have the original shipping box with foam, or the expanded foam were all damaged.

You might be OK with about6 inches of bubblewrap on each side, including corners. Maybe.
I once purchased a 4,1 on eBay for a very low price and was drooling over when I saw the OEM box delivered.... But as soon as I opened the box, I knew things were bad. The computer was wrapped in a kids blanket.
Yes, one of the legs was damaged on that one.
