I bought my first iMac in 2014. It is a 21.5" 2.7GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 Non-Retina. It has 8gb RAM and a 1TB Flash Hard Drive. My machine is primarily web surfing, email and creating a few documents here and there. As of this writing its still sailing along nicely. I'm fairly deep into the Apple ecosystem and am getting the itch to upgrade. I've been offered $400.00 for the machine. Is it time or hold out? I'd like to sell my old system while its still worth something.

If someone wants the iMac for $400, might be time to "take the money and run".

If you're really into the iMac, I'd think that the 2019 27" 5k would be "the way to go" for your next purchase.

Pick the CPU/GPU level you like (I would go for the "mid-range").

Get 8gb of RAM (27" lets you add your own later on).

Most important choice:
Get an SSD inside (NOT a fusion drive).
512gb or even 256gb will do fine. 1tb is not a "good buy" from Apple (too $$$).
For more storage space, plug in a USB3 drive (SSD or HDD).

Agreed. I think $400 for my current machine is a decent return after enjoying it for nearly 5 years! Thanks for your reply!
