I have an iPod classic, which I bought when I was in 8th grade, about 7 years ago. Yes, I have had my iPod for that long.
For the most part, nothing has been wrong with it. Twice it decided to delete every file I had on it, but I've since forgiven it for that. It's crazy picky...it doesn't like to be charged by non-apple iPod chargers, and has gone through phases when occasionally it decides to shut down whenever the backlight isn't on. I have forgiven it for that, too.
But recently, it sufured a tragic accident in my backpack in which some MIO water enhancer got on it...and in it. It turns on, but naturally, the liquid caused a short in my iPod. I've consulted with some people, and even if the rice trick were to work, the sweetners in the concentrated liquid would likely wreak havoc on the innards of my iPod.
So it's time to upgrade. I've toyed with the idea for about 3 years, but never really had a solid reason to. For the most part, my iPod works. And even though I'll complain incessantly whenever it decides not to charge, or randomly deletes all 30GB of media I have, I've never actually went in to buy a new one
Since I don't have a smart phone, I don't really have another option.
So here's my question- the new nano, or the new iPod touch? Or an old iPod touch? Most articles I've read have told me the new iPod touch is worth it, but I'm having a problem biting the 300 dollar bullet. I really do want the storage, but I'm just not in the mood to buy another classic when on one hand, the nano is far more portable, and on the other, the touch has so many more features.
So just give me your opinion- what would you do in my situation?
