No, not me. Someone named shelane Made the first mention of an iPad in a Newton rumor thread way back in 2001. Shelane also mentioned iBook.
shelane said:
Believe me, nothing would please me more than to see the return of the Newton. Apple was on the cutting edge of PDAs 3 years ago. I have heard from very reliable sources that Apple was supposed to release their new PDA code name "iPad" in Tokyo, but held back. This iPad is not a revist of Newton. It unfortunately will not truly compete even with Palm because what it is, is a sub $1000 iBook without the features that would make it a full laptop.
I thought I was good. This is simply uncanny. ;)

Arn tweeted about someone else on this forum posting about the iPad in 2001. Most have been serious plans if a lot of people knew.

Doesn't matter what they were calling it, they weren't *selling* anything called iPad before Fujitsu. Trademark rights depend on use of the name *in commerce*.
Fujitsu's iPad was a point-of-sale retailer's device that wasn't available to the general public that I know of. A PDF describing it has a 2004 copyright on it. Apple will either buy the trademark from them, or find a way to void it. Time will tell. Interesting either way.

I think was linked in the front page when the iPad became official, I think.

I have known about the iPad for several years now. Not by the name iPad but that it was being worked on. It has been, at least, 4 years? I knew of one internal engineer / saleman who described it to me in detail what it was going to look like and how it was going to act. Then another friend who worked on some of the silicon form a 3rd party company who told me about it's abilities.

Thus I've been waiting for it. We'll see what happens when the public gets their hands on it. :D

to be honest with you, it doesn't even have a delete button

Some typewriters do have a "delete" button, but it's only electronic typewriters with memories of what keys have been typed. Some of the older manual typewriters do also have a back button and a correction ribbon so you can manually re-type the incorrect letter to "erase" it ... although that can be a difficult task to line up if you've already moved the paper further down the page.

BTW, in proper English it is "traveller".

Traveller? Seems heavy on ls to me. This thread is more about time travel lore. My fingers are often ahead of my head. I should have said: Someone with extreme fore-sight... ;)
