Hey all, I have a 8TB HDD that's internal to the MP 7,1 and DriveDx is showing it to be 50% healthy. I have noticed that if I disconnect this drive, the system feels snappier, but if I connect it back that it feels slower.

Is it true that a drive thats not healthy will slow down the system?

It can actually. When the computer try to access the HDD, it may need to wait for the HDD I/O return before it can proceed to the next step.

More waiting time means slower for the user.

For an unhealthy HDD, the I/O return may much slower than normal (e.g. need to re-try many times, or need a lot of error correction). Therefore, the whole computer's responsiveness is affected.
