As awesome as the AirPods Pro’s 2 are, I found them aggravating my mild tinnitus. I found that turning off Noise Control when possible, especially while listening to music, virtually eliminates the effect. My ignorant theory is that, with ANC off, the AirPods aren’t generating any signals to counteract noise, so maybe those signals can cause issues. I’m sharing because I’m relieved to have a solution, and also curious about others’ experience.

It doesn’t affect my tinnitus, but using headphones or earbuds without noise cancelling will often cause me to turn up the volume too far in noisy environments, which does make the tinnitus worse on occasion, so I always use it.

I guess this is how tinnitus works, but having AirPods Pro in my ears with nothing playing and noise cancelling on often causing a bit of ringing which goes if I switch noise cancellation off entirely.

Usually the opposite for me with APPs as well as most other noise cancelling headphones - I find the soft noise cancellation hum usually acts to soften the sound of my tinnitus compared to not having any anc on.
