Hi! I have a 14-inch 2021 MBP and I love it! Unfortunately, there's a tiny but annoying spot on the screen that I can't seem to get rid of. See the attached photo. I've already tried several things to remove it, including the typical screen cleaning kits and 70% isopropyl alcohol cleaning cloths.. but so far nothing works. I'm afraid the dirt, or whatever it is, is stuck *in* the screen.

Does anyone here have a suggestion for what I could still try to get rid of it?

Thanks for the quick response!
I don't think it's a dead pixel tbh, because if I gently move my finger over that spot, I can feel there's something on/in the screen there.

Lay the screen side flat and let a drop of water stay there for 10 sec and try to remove it with a lit free cloth.

I've tried it just now, but still the same issue. I think I'll have to bring the laptop in for service. Thanks for the suggestions.

I would still contact apple and/or bring it into an apple store have them take a look

Judging from the pictures I had the very same problem on my 14". There was this tiny annoying dot, and it was virtually impossible to wipe it away – to the point where I thought I damaged the screen. Apple's polishing cloth couldn't help either.

Someone on this forum recommended me Zeiss cleaning wipes and Oh dear God, that thing worked. Just press it a bit harder (just a bit) and you'll likely see the result immediately.

That almost looks like the lid got closed on something that got pushed into the surface of the display.

Agree with Mr. Flynn -- VERY FIRST thing to do is take it to a brick n mortar Apple Store if you have one nearby. It -might- qualify for a warranty repair.

Thanks for the replies! I decided to take the laptop to my local Apple Authorized dealer. They replaced the screen under AppleCare+. I still had to pay € 99, but that's way better than the € 900+ Apple normally charges for a new screen.

Oddly I had the exact same thing happen to me last week, it feels 3d like there is something somehow stuck in there. I'm gonna take it to the Apple store and see what they say - I hope I get it for free rather than paying... but I'm not sure they'll be so kind.

I just checked to see why OP was charged $99 and I guess this would be the explanation: "Unlimited incidents of accidental damage protection, each subject to a service fee of $99 for screen damage or external enclosure damage, or $299 for other accidental damage, plus applicable tax."

Not quite a fan of this (compared to the old AppleCare) since it's easy to shift blame to the owner, especially given the sensitivity of these screens.

My MacBook Pro 13 also has several of this little dots like the one florisvlasveld has, I'm gonna give these wipes you recommend a try, could you please check if they contain alcohol? Apparently there is a version with alcohol and one without florisvlasveld why did apple make you pay? Why wasn't it covered by your warranty?

How long have you owned the MBP and was the spot there when you received it? This looks like debris under the display to me. You should not have been charged if this was the case.

I've owned it for about a year or so. It definitely wasn't there when I bought the laptop. I think the issue has been there for a few months now.

I had a similar issue some years back in the Kalahari desert. I am pretty sure it was caused by a grain of sand between the keyboard and the screen. This caused a tiny damaged point on the screen.
