Here are some ideas to help you "manage your files" while working with the iPad iWork apps. It requires GoodReader from the App Store, which is an awesome deal at $.99.
At this point, there is practically zero integration with MobileMe and the iPad iWork suite. The method I outline below may not be news to you, but it may help others.
The idea is to use the GoodReader app as your file manager. This process will work with other cloud/email services, not just MobileMe. The only requirement is that the email or dropbox service must be supported by GoodReader. As long as you have POP3 or IMAP access to your email, GoodReader can work with it (don't quote me on that).
Below is an example to get you started.
First, you begin with a file from Pages.
Next, you export the file by sending it as an email attachment to yourself.
Now that you've emailed the document to yourself, you can load the GoodReader app. As you can see below, I've connected GoodReader to my MobileMe email and MobileMe iDisk services. This allows you to import items from either service into Pages, Keynote, or Numbers.
Then, I chose my MobileMe email service within GoodReader, choose the correct email within my Inbox, and then touch the attachment I exported from Pages to download it into my GoodReader file manager. You can see the download progress in the background.
Once the download is complete, as seen below, the file is now stored in GoodReader.
From here, you have more options. Let's say you've imported a file from your MobileMe iDisk and want to edit it in Pages. You can use GoodReader to email this file to yourself, and then open the file in Pages from the Mail app. In the image below, you choose the Manage Files toolbar, and then select the file of your choice, and then select E-Mail.
Now you can email it back to yourself to access through the Mail app, and import into Pages.
Or, you can select a file, choose Copy in the Manage Files toolbar, and paste it into any MobileMe iDisk folder you choose, as show below.
Although it's ridiculous that you must go through this kind of trouble to manage your files, it's good to know the option is there. This is a fairly easy way to get files from the iPad iWork suite to your MobileMe iDisk, and vice versa.
