Tips and Advise for obtaining a mac pro

Ok So currently I have A Imac 27 inch i7 2.93 and a Macbook pro 13inch 2010 that i purchased in September both with applecare . So im willing to sell both of these to save enough money for Mac Pro New Or refurb. But heres the deal im going to be a college next year so i need some sort of a Portable option to go with it. My portable options are 1. Ipad 2 and a cheep netbook or 2. MBA 11.6 inch.Now i know im not gonna come out even but I would like to keep as close as possible. What do think i could sell these for. Both are Near perfect condition. I take care of my expensive electronics. I was thinking 1000 (paid 1500 for it after tax and applecare for the MBP and 2000 (paid 2400 after tax and Applecare) for the Imac?

I would keep the MBP, sell the iMac and with that money you should have enough to buy a refurb Mac Pro, I would shoot for a 1,3 no older, you might have to add some cash, but hopefully not too much. What are you going to be using the Mac Pro for?

Just for hobby video editing. Nothing professional bit if it matters I'm editing 720p 60fps h.264 videos. So I need a powerful machine so it doesnt take 5 hours to render. For example a 10 min clip with color correction takes anywhere from 1hour to hour and a half.
