I'm a student artist looking to create an online portfolio and was looking for some pointers on what I have done so far. I want to keep my website pretty minimalistic for the most part. If you were to click on a thumbnail, the page would reload with that specific artwork.

Thoughts?

A nice way to show bigger versions of ur work without the need to reload or have multiple pages would be use a javascript gallery...

Search "lightbox2" on google and have a look at this one...

It's not a great deal of code to add to ur pages and even if u know very little coding, like me, then u should still be able to integrate it.

It's clean and will keep ur site simple, one page even.

Also search "onepagefolios"....

may want to consider floatbox as it can give a few more options to the lyte/lightbox versions.

It does the same basis (overlays over the top) but it can also do things like slideshows, html, video, flash in the box instead of just images.

As to the layout, its maybe a little too simple/minimal but apart from that it doesn't look too bad.
