Hi all, I am trying to find a 16gb ram m1 mbp. I noticed that Apple had some in stores the other day but haven’t seen any recently on their app. Does anyone know when they restock the store and put it on the app for in store pickups?

also is it even worth it for the 16gb? I figured for $200 I might as well get the extra ram. I’m mostly going to do day to day stuff on the machine and some light video editing.

Went to the Apple store at Freehold Mall (NJ) yesterday. There were no 16’s available on-line but they were available at the store.

16 GB with 1 TB SSD looks like a BTO that stores will stock in space grey and gold.

Fellow Freehold area guy here.

Was the store crowded? I might venture up there but want to avoid large crowds

In the UK Apple Stores stock 16GB RAM configurations with a 1TB SSD. I picked my M1 Air 16GB 1TB SSD from the Bath Apple store on launch day. They had stock of M1 MBP and M1 Air with 16GB RAM. I ordered at 6am on launch day.

Slightly crazy that they're not shutting non-essential stores in the US, like in most of Western Europe.

I assume that you did a "take away-style" order at the front of the Apple store?

In my city, all of the shopping centres are closed with the exception of have an email confirmation for a pick-up.

Makes sense as the infections rates were far to high before.

Yep, It was a pickup outside the store only. You have to buy online and arrange collection. You are not allowed to buy anything at the store itself.
Yeah, that's what I figured. Was there any option to see the machines? Were they out on display?

I just went all in and bought the evening of the presentation but others might have wanted to see them first.

Man, this keyboard is awesome :D

We are in lockdown at the moment in the UK, I did not ask, but I don't think you are allowed in the store. Also they have reduced staff as they are only allowing pickups due to lockdown.

I know.

I feel like it is lockdown light and nowehere near as serious as the first lockdown in the UK.

I went on a Thursday at Noon. My daughter had an appointment to pick up the MBA she ordered online so I tagged along. They brought her unit outside but I told them that I wanted to look around so we waited maybe 5 minutes. The store was busy but not “crowded”. I didn’t expect to find what I wanted (MBA 8/512 silver for my wife and 16/1T space gray for myself) because they were listed online as available “tomorrow“ but they had them in the back. They must keep a number of unlisted units available for walk-ins.
Good luck.

Anyone have luck to get a 16GB version store pickup in Europe particularly in Amsterdam?
