Just a shot in the dark but I was wondering if any of you know of any solutions for fixing up a scratched cd. I am attempting to re-install Tiger on my Powerbook and about 75% of the way through I get an error due to this. I'm hoping I can fix it enough to get by. Are there any other options? Do you think Apple could send me another copy?

Maybe if you sent them the disk, they'd replace it for a fee, but I don't know.

Toothpaste has been known to fix some cd problems. Take a very small amount and rub it into the disc.

I'd call apple first to find out though, toothpaste could do more harm than good.

If the powerbook you had originally came with Tiger then yes they will send you knew DVD/CD. I knew this for a fact cause they sent me new DVD's for my iMac when mine decided not to work.

If you dont fel like waiting you can take them to an Apple Store or an authorized reseller and they should exchange them for you
