Hello everyone!

I'm in college, about to enter my senior year. I've been tossing the idea around for a while and now it's very concrete: I'd like to develop an iPhone/iPod Touch app.

I've done the research and determined that there is a market for my product (don't want to go into too much detail here), and I'm already part of the way through my development cycle (I have the designs all drawn out). The only thing I need still is a Macbook and the devkit :)p), both of which I can finally get by the end of this week.I hope to have my app on the store by the first week of September, which is very doable.

So I'm asking all of my fellow devs out there to share some advice with me. Is there anything you'd go back in time to tell yourself?

Thanks everyone, and good luck in your endeavors!

Dont give up, read stuff over and over again until you understand it. I gave up but recently got back into iphone dev, and i regret quitting a while back.

The other thing you'll need, if you don't already have one, is an appropriate device to test you app on. You'll need an iPhone if your app takes advantage of hardware only available on that.

Good luck!

Unless you have a specifc reason to have a laptop over a desktop consider the desktop. It's much easier for me to work with the larger screen when I have multiple windows open. The difference between 13" and 20" or 24" is huge.

Aside from that, follow the previous posters advice and read the stickies.
