I view YouTube a lot and I was fed up with all the YouTube shorts being plastered all over YouTube. That problem has been remedied by using "Eat the Shorts" Mac app Safari extension ($1.99).

Yes, they're annoying, especially since you can't even control playback with the slider like on normal YouTube videos (unless you modify the URL by changing shorts/ to watch?v=). And another annoyance is that YouTube sometimes sends you notifications when people you subscribe to upload a short, and other times (seemingly most of the time), they don't 🤷🏼‍♂️ Oh, and it's also annoying when you go to upload a vertical < 60 sec video yourself but don't want it to be a short, but YouTube makes it that by default unless you tell it not to.

Yeah I agree, they're really annoying. Same thing goes for Instagram and Facebook reels except they're even longer.

Brave browser works well for YT ads. 4k video downloader and play via TV app, Infuse or Plex?

The ads are appalling. I hate ads of all types hence aggressive blocking at router and DNS along with others. Even Apple on News+ sub try to peddle adverts - even when I pay for sub! YT ads are truly awful. Brave does a reasonable job and I can't remember seeing any ads when watching YT on Brave.
