Damn it. Why did the iPhone 5 have to be nothing but a spec upgrade. I sold my Iphone 4 during the right time to sell, bought an S3 and was happy initially. After the new wow factor wore off, I grew tired of little things that make both the S3 and Android bad. I was hoping the Iphone 5 would sway me back, but definitely not.

Im not one to constantly switch phones so ill stay with the S3 for now, but when will someone combine the stability and polish of iOS with the power of Android.

If anyone has any questions about the S3, let me know. Ill tell you what I have experienced.

Oh man you're gonna get killed in here.

And the iPhone 5 is hardly a spec bump like the 4S or 3GS were.

Are you saying it is much more than just a spec bump, or are you saying it isn't a spec bump like those models were?

I'm not really into flashing roms yet, but are you guys flashing to custom roms like CM10 or like a leaked official build? I am on T-MO.

I just dont like the little tiny bugs with Android. Like I think the camera on my iphone 4 was better, seems like I have to be close to still or turn HD on manually each time for a good picture. Otherwise pictures are can be blurry.

I do love the raw power of the S3. It's pretty amazing what it can do. I just dont like the tiny bugs, but maybe the 4.1 update will help.

It's a major overhaul by Apple standards but we knew all of the specs ahead of time so it was hardly wowing. Smartphone hardware is maturing so it's hard to deliver giant leaps forward like a couple years back.

While this is true, there are lots of groundbreaking things that could be done with the phone with the technology we now have. Could apple do all of it at a reasonable price point? Of course not, but there are definitely features that could be implemented that haven't. Both on the software and hardware side.

Make sure your lense is clean. I have had something on the lense of my galaxy nexus that made my pictures really bad. Wiped it off with a damp cloth and it was so much better after.

Go for the SuperNexus ROM, here.

Firstly, what were you expecting from the iPhone 5 that wasn’t announced today?

And secondly, what about Android and iOS makes you say that they both “suck” ? What are you looking for your phone to do that neither of these operating systems offer?

I still had a tiny bit of hope that the leaks would be wrong even though I wasn't going to buy it either way.

Yes it's surprising that neither satisfies him.

Well basically I LOVED my iphone 4. And the GS3 is pretty awesome. Android and iOS have very strong things going for them, but also very strong things wrong with them.

Once you use a GS3, it makes it hard to go back to iOS because of all the new things you can do, its just too powerful for a user who likes to mess with things. But thats also the thing thats wrong with it, you mess with so many things that its just too much maintenance at times, with the iOS there is no maintenance but you cant do much.

Its funny because im sure people who have used both know exactly what I mean. When you are on iOS you wish you could use a file manager, but when you actually use one on Android, i think 'who wants to mess with files, just work'

I didnt make this post to say I hate Android or I hate iOS. I love them both, i just wish there wasn't such a gap between them. Not saying one is better than the other, but its a parallel gap.

You should seriously think of getting a WP8 device. I've got an S3, I love it. But I love gadgets, and will most definitely be picking up a Ativ S as well. They will both be my daily drivers. I'll use whichever one I'm in the mood for that day. Just like how I cycle through my watches. I get bored just like everyone else, but flashing roms on the S3 is definitely a way to fight the boredom, but so is also having a second phone with another OS that's much different than Android and iOS. Gotta love the choices out there today.

Im not one to constantly switch phones so ill stay with the S3 for now, but when will someone combine the stability and polish of iOS with the power of Android.

If anyone has any questions about the S3, let me know. Ill tell you what I have experienced.

Go for Nokia windows 8 phone.

Go Windows phone with Nokia or wait for BB10, it should be a very excellent product, if it ever gets released. Windows 8 supposedly should be very fluid and polished.

Stop putting your expectations so high and just be happy with what you have. You can try other phones, as has been suggested... but from what you'd said so far I doubt you'll be satisfied with those either.

Have you tried jailbreaking an iPhone? I was wanting more of the features of Android. I even tried the S3. After realizing a few things I wasn't going to get past with it, I switched back to my iPhone and re-jailbroke it. I had put it back to stock as part of my decision making on S3 vs iPhone 5. I am not wild about plain iOS, but jailbroken you can add all your widgets, tweak the appearance and such. I think it's the best of both worlds, personally.

When you got your S3 did you simply use the same sim from iPhone? I got one yesterday but data is not working when I use my 4s sim. Do I need a new SIM?

You shouldn't need a new SIM if moving from a 4S. I used the SIM I had in my 4S in two different S3's and it works fine.
